"Rick Love has been our artist in residence since 2017 and has helped create several engaging art pieces in collaboration with my research team. Rick's visits are a highlight of every year and his interactive approach to art never fails to draw out conversation, creative thinking, and a spirit of collaboration from our team. Rick's engaging style draws people out from their normal silos and creates a lasting feeling of community in our group. Moreover, his collaborative artworks capture the concepts, feelings, and inspirations of the team and displays these abstractions as unique artworks that capture a moment in time." Prof. Ian Lewis, Ph.D. Principal Investigator Assistant Professor, Alberta Innovates Translational Health Chair, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Calgary
“The thing about the tape is that is familiar. So everyone understands it as a material. The colors immediate, it goes up and you can take it down. I think maybe his greatest strength is that he doesn't exist within the norms, like within the the sort of stereotypical parameters. And so Rick is always looking at what what has to be done to be successful, not what has been done to be successful. ” Cody Heinrichs, Curator, visual arts center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
“He listens with his entire being. That's the one thing about Rick, though, that is different than other people, other artists, and I know, he can listen with his entire brain. I love his concept. I love that he works with people that don't consider themselves artists. Rick provides a space for someone to discover that thing that's hidden. And so that's where I think with tape art, like he's just really giving them tools and showing them the method and then just allowing for what comes of that. And he has this great laid back, easygoing, fun, and approachable way of being. “ Monica Larson, Sister Black Press
” I like the care and empathy that he took, I was surprised at how he connected with students and the people and cared about them.” Chris Turoski, Assistant Professor of Patent Law Programs, University of Minnesota.
Uplifting corporate culture through creative expression and professional development workshops
Inspire your team’s ingenuity
How does an ambitious leader like you motivate your team members to become more innovative?
…Especially when your time is consumed with managing high-level projects, juggling budgets and deadlines, and monitoring an endless stream of emails?
The good news is– you don’t have to throw together another motivational meeting. Relax your shoulders and take a sip of coffee. I’ll handle the rest.
Introducing: Tape Art Workshops for high-achieving business professionals, In order to tap into the full potential of your team, I facilitate a workshop environment that welcomes any and all artistic expression. Harnessing my twenty years of experience as a University Professor of art and design, I lean into methods and media that even the most analytical thinkers can play with.
Although artistic expression can be intimidating to a pragmatic mind— creativity is the exact thing standing in the way between your ambitious team members and producing groundbreaking ideas.
The catch? They need to follow a few simple rules.
Less truly is more– my unique method to promote proactivity
The reason that I use tape as a medium is because it has virtually no barrier to entry. Everyone knows what tape is and how to use it, but they most likely haven’t used it in a collaborative, artistic way.
By setting simple parameters like this in the workshops, it actually increases resourcefulness amongst participants. I call this, “capitalizing on limitations.”
This is the secret behind healthy collaboration.
The Tape Art Workshops are how I’ve helped to disarm and teach lawyers, VPs, CEOs, financial advisors, scientists, and other thought leaders how to tap into their innate creativity. This is how they learned to solve problems in revolutionary ways.
I help them access a piece of their inner genius that may have been dormant for years.
My goal is that each participant walks away from the experience with a deeper understanding of themselves, richer relationships with their colleagues, and a newfound resourcefulness that permeates each and every project they lay their hands on. Consequently, this will create an enhanced work culture of trust, integrity, and collaboration.
